ALMATI DUO
The Almati Duo was founded in 2004 by cellist
Dmitrij Gornowskij and pianist Amir Tebenikhin.
Both compatriots from Kazakhstan's former capital Almaty, friendship and their passion for music unites their every performance. They perform master compositions for cello and piano from all styles and epochs: from the classical beauty of Beethoven to deeply dramatic works from Shostakovich and Prokofiev, they have a repertoire that spans almost the entire classical repertoire for cello and piano. The Almati Duo has performed across Germany in Leipzig, Bonn and Frankfurt am Main for the Rachmaninov Festival, including an exclusive concert for the Rachmaninov Society in 2016.
In 2017 in Neumarkt, Germany, they performed the Beethoven Triple Concerto with violinist Ernis Asanaliev. They have recorded and produced several CD's including Sonatas from Beethoven, Brahms, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov and Myaskovsky. Most recently their 2023 recording of Reinhold Glière's 12 Album Leaves received the praise and endorsement from the Glière Family from Moscow.
